Students used their name as the basis for their symmetrical creatures. They wrote their names with chalk and folded and rubbed. Then they colored in their creature with Cray Pas, making sure that the creature remained symmetrical.

Kindergarten and 1st Gr Paper Sculptures
Students looked at examples of large-scale work done by Richard Serra. Then using folding and curling techniques, they set out to design their own playgrounds, water parks and skate parks.
Kindergarten Burlap, Wire, and Bead Sculptures
Students learned that sculptures can be made from many different materials. These sculptures were made using burlap, wire, beads and pipe cleaners.

2nd Gr Animal Masks
Students at Becket Washington created animal masks using papier mache and then they painted and decorated them. They learned that masks have been used throughout history for entertainment, protection, disguise, and protection. We looked at traditional masks from Japanese Noh Theater.
