Kindergarten Crayon + Watercolor Paintings

Students read "Goodnight Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown and learned how to draw their own stars, moon and nocturnal animals.
Then, they watercolor painted over their crayon drawings.

1st Gr Abstract or Realistic

Students learned the difference between abstract art and realistic art. They looked at examples of both types of artwork. Then they decided whether they would create an abstract artwork or a realistic artwork.
Some students divided their page and created both abstract and realistic art. Abstract art is designs, shapes and colors. Realistic art is when you can name what you are looking at.
Then students watercolor painted over their drawings.
