K-2 Tempera Experiments

Students experimented with color-mixing using tempera paint. We read Mix It Up! by Herve Tullet and then students worked to create their own colors.

1st Gr Bird Paintings

Students learned how to paint birds by identifying the shapes they see in their bodies and looking at examples of birds in nature. Then, they added a background.

Kindergarten Cat Paintings

Students read Have You Seen My Cat? by Eric Carle and learned how to paint different types of cats. 

5th Gr Walton Ford Animal Paintings

Students were inspired by the artwork of Walton Ford and created their safari animals from observation. They added their own backgrounds after looking at landscapes from the African Savannah

5th Gr Paper Weaving

Students first created two paintings. They created botanical paintings by looking at silk flowers, leaves and pinecones. Once these paintings were done, they wove them together.
